The French Review of Art – Vol II No 8. Paris: Editions de la Revue Verve. 1940 Number 8 of Verve was completed just fews day before the German occupation of Paris, on June 1940, during WWII. Bound in stiff boards, in the original wrappers illustrated by Matisse, with a double-page color lithograph by P. Bonnard; the fifteenth century Calendar of C. D'Angouleme, heliogravure color and in gold, next to the drawings of the annual calendar by André Derain. Reproductions of drawings and paintings of Matisse, Bonnard, Picasso, Derain. Texts by G. Rouault, G. Braque, A. Malraux and others.
This 8th number is devoted to the Nature of France.
This copy is (G ) good condition, actual book in fine condition with crisp pages and no issues, some damage on spine and rip on top of spine.
